Search

The system-wide implementation of Requisition search is manifested most commonly in the Inquiries, Laboratory and Sign-Out dashboards. You can filter by department, status (queue) or even perform an advanced search. Alternatively the full text search feature can be used at the top right as with all other dictionary index pages.

Use the Department toggle buttons to select the results for one or more Departments.

Typically, 8 queues are available for selection.

• Incomplete: The Requisition has not been processed by the Laboratory
• In Progress: Some results have been entered for the Requisition
• Unverified: Results have been entered but are in an unverified state
• Verified: Results have been verified by those entering results in the Laboratory
• Unsigned: Results which are ready to be signed and have not been signed
• Signed: Results which have been signed out
• Critical: Critical results which have been entered regardless of verification and signing status
• All: All results grouped across all queues

• Requisition
  • Number (A/B): The Requisition number (A) followed by the form number (B)
  • Collection Date: The date and time the Requisition was collected
  • Expected Completion Date: The expected date/time the result needs to be sent to the Doctor based on Test configuration in relation to the Tests logged for the Requisition
  • Warnings:
    • TAT Exceeded: The Expected Completion Date has passed and the result has not been signed out
    • Critical: The Requisition contains critical results
    • Urgent: The Requisition is Urgent (Hospital or manually triggered when logging the Requisition)
• Patient
  • Name: The name of the Patient
  • ID Number: The social security ID number of the Patient
  • Result Status:
    • The percentage of results which have been entered for the Requisition by the Laboratory. Once all results have been entered, a blue All Results flag will appear.
  • Signing Status:
    • Departments Ready: When 1 or more Departments are ready for signing, this is all results for the Department has been entered an amber indicator will appear
    • Bar graph: The bar chart indicates the percentage of Departments for the Requisition that have been signed out.
• Doctor
  • Name/Mnemonic: The name and mnemonic of the requesting Doctor
  • Duration: The number of hours in the queue
• Departments: The Departments that have to perform testing for the Requisition
  • Icon:
    • Colour: Red=not started, Amber=in progress or complete, Blue=Verified or signed
    • Glyph: Hourglass=not started, Half star=Started, Check=Verified or signed
  • Department: The name of the Department
  • Progress indicator (E/D): Where E is the number of results entered for the Department and accepted and D is the total number of tests for that Department that were requested. The Progress indicator disappears once all results for the Department are entered.
