All clinical tests performed by the organisation are maintained here. Tests are linked to Instruments and Branches.
- Test Code: The Code which is used to identify the Test when defining calculated result formulae. No two Tests may share the same code
- Test: The Name of the Test
- Male/Female: The Patient sex that this Test is applicable to
- LOINC: The LOINC code for the test (see www.loing.org). May be used for result upload to third party systems or billing. Not strictly required.
- Department: The Department which performs this Test. The Department link cannot be changed once the Test has been created.
- Auto-Urgent: Toggle Button. When selected (red), any Requisition containing this test is automatically marked as Urgent when logged.
- NHRPL Code: The NHRPL Code item that this Test belongs to. Generally used for billing exports and integrations. Not strictly required.
- Unit of Measure: The default unit of measure that this Test results are collected/inputted. This may be overridden when setting up the Instrument.
- Decimals: The number of decimals which the result must be formatted in.
- Print Order: The numerical position in relation to other tests on the result report
- Confidential: Flag which indicates the Test result is confidential
- Hide result: When active, prevents the result from printing on the result report
- Comments: Information which must be presented to the laboratory technician when capturing the result. Links to SOP guides, calibration info and other data may be captured here. Space is limited on the result entry screen. Please be concise.
- Default Expression
- Red warning message (when applicable): Indicates whether other Tests reference this Test
- Input field: The formula if this is a calculated test. Refer to the Help Information in the blue box below this field for further information. Alternatively, please contact THASA
- Tube: The Tube which is used when performing this Test. If multiple Tubes are used, please consult THASA
- Sample Stability: The number of Hours/Days/Months/Years (select one) that the sample is valid for.
- Normal Turnaround Time (TAT): The number of hours and minutes that the result needs to be given for outpatients and other ordinary circumstances
- Urgent Turnaround Time (TAT): The number of hours and minutes that the result needs to be given for hospital patients and other extraordinary circumstances where the Requisition has been marked as Urgent when logged.
- Result Type:
- Numeric: For quantitative results
- Lookup: For qualitative results with a discrete set of options. Create the appropriate lookup options (See figure and information below):
